Arrival notification for transit

When the transited goods arrive, they must be presented to Customs and an unloading permission must be requested. This is done by submitting an arrival notification.

There are two ways to start submitting an arrival notification:

  • Submit the arrival notification as a new declaration. On the start page, choose “+ New declaration”, then “Transit” and “Arrival and destination”. After this, you can start completing the arrival notification.
  • Submit the arrival notification based on the transit declaration. Some of the details will be filled in automatically. Go to the “Summary and submission” page of the transit declaration and choose “Arrival notification”.

The MRN will be filled in automatically if you use a transit declaration as the basis for the arrival notification. If you are submitting the arrival notification as a new declaration, provide the MRN at the beginning.

Contact person

The contact person is the submitter of the notification. Customs may contact the contact the contact person for additional information.
If you have saved your details in advance in the settings, you can tick the box “Use the details of the authenticated person”, and the field for trader office code will be completed automatically. If you are not using the details of the authenticated person, enter your name, email address and phone number in the fields.

Trader at destination

Here you can tick the box “Use the details of authenticated trader” and the service will fill in the details automatically.

Provide the identification number of the trader at destination if the service has not filled in the field automatically. Only an EORI number can be provided as the identification number of the trader at destination. When you enter the EORI number of the trader at destination, the service fills in the other details automatically.

Authorisations

If you are submitting the arrival notification as an authorised consignee, provide the authorisation number here. After this, the other authorisation details will be filled in automatically.
