Copying a transit declaration and using a template

You can also submit a new declaration by using

  • an earlier declaration that you copy
  • a template you have saved.

Creating a declaration by copying an earlier declaration

You can use an earlier declaration to create a draft that you can supplement and amend into a new declaration.

However, if you use a copied draft, you cannot change all details. For example, you cannot change the details in the field “Security”. If you have copied a T transit declaration as a draft, you cannot change the declaration type to TIR Carnet.

On the declaration list in the “In progress” or “Finished” tab, open the declaration you want to use for a draft. When the “Summary and submission” page opens, click on “Copy”.

The service opens a pop-up window asking whether you want to save the copy as a draft or as a new template. Click on “Copy as a draft”.

The service creates a draft. At the top of the page you can see when the draft was created.

Some of the declaration details are copied to the new draft declaration. Fill in the missing details and correct any incorrect details. Check all the details carefully, e.g. quantities of goods, description of goods, commodity code, amount of guarantee to be reserved and any details of means of transport.

Creating a template

You can create your own templates that you can use when submitting new declarations. There are two ways to create a template:
•    Create a template based on a declaration you have completed earlier.
•    Start completing a new declaration by clicking on “New declaration” and after answering the questions under “Choose the type of a new declaration” tick the box “…I want to make a template for later use”.

Copying an earlier declaration as a template

If you use an earlier declaration as a template, open the declaration on the list in the “In progress” or “Finished” tab. When the “Summary and submission” page opens, click on “Copy”.

This opens a pop-up window with the question: “Do you want to save the copy as a draft or as a new template?” When you want to create a template, click on “Save as template”.

You can save the template by clicking on “Save changes”. Enter a name for the template in the field “Template name” and click on “Save”.

You can find the template on the list in the “My templates” tab.

Creating a template from the beginning

Another way to create a template is to fill in the details for the template from the beginning. On the front page, click on “+ New declaration”. Please note: Do not use the shortcuts. When you have answered all the questions under “Choose the type of a new declaration”, you can tick the box “…I want to make a template for later use”.

Fill in the necessary details in the template that opens and move to “Summary and submission”. Click on “Save changes”, enter the name of the template and click on “Save”. Then you can retrieve the template you just created as a template for a new declaration.
