Transport information (Transit declaration)

Under “Transport information”, there are fields for the following details:

  • transport information upon departure
  • means of transport at the border
  •  details of containers and seals
  • transport documents
  • route details.

Inland mode of transport

Choose the inland mode of transport.

Provide the means of transport by clicking on “+ Add transport means”. As the identification number of the means of transport, provide e.g. the registration number of the vehicle onto which the goods have been loaded. Provide the details of both tractor and trailer.

The identification number is not provided if the mode of transport is “5 – Postal consignment” or “7 – Fixed transport installations”.

As the type of identification, choose the appropriate alternative, e.g. “30 – Registration number of the road vehicle”.

As the nationality, choose the country of registration of the means of transport. The nationality is not provided if the mode of transport is “2 – Rail transport”, “5 – Postal consignment” or “7 – Fixed transport installations”. 

Means of transport at the border

Choose the mode of transport at the border.

Provide the means of transport by clicking on “+ Add transport means”. As the identification number, provide e.g. the registration number of the active vehicle.

As the type of identification, choose the appropriate alternative, e.g. “30 – Registration number of the road vehicle”.

If the mode of transport is “4 – Air transport”, provide the flight number (IATA/ICAO), e.g. AY123 as the conveyance reference number.

As the nationality, choose the country of registration of the means of transport.

Provide the customs office at the EU border through which the active means of transport arrives or exits.

Containers and seals

If you are providing container details or seals, click on “+ Add container or seal”.

If the goods are in a container at the time of declaration, enter the container number in the field “Container identification number”. For a sea container, provide the identification number using four letters + six digits + hyphen + check digit.

Commercial seals cannot be provided as seals, but only seals in accordance with the authorised consignor’s authorisation for the use of seals. You can provide a seal by clicking on the pencil icon. A new window will then open. When you have provided all seals, click on “Save”. The window will close and you go back to the declaration. The number of seals is filled in automatically when you have provided the seals. If needed, you can provide other seals using the additional information code “FIXXX”. 

Under “Declaration goods item number”, provide the declaration goods item number (running number). You can provide the goods items by clicking on the pencil icon. A new window will then open. When you have provided all goods items, click on “Save”. The window will close and you go back to the declaration. This detail is mandatory, if you provide container details or seals.

Transport documents

Add a transport document by clicking on “+ Add document”. Choose the document type and provide the document identifier. If needed, upload an attachment.

Country of dispatch

When you are lodging a TIR Carnet declaration, this field is filled in automatically based on the details you have already provided.

Country of destination

This field is filled in automatically based on the details you have already provided.

Binding itinerary

If needed, the service fills in this detail automatically.

Routing country/countries

This detail must be provided if safety and security data are provided with the declaration. The routing countries must be in order from departure to destination.
