Movement of goods under temporary storage

Goods can be moved under temporary storage from one temporary storage facility to another. The warehouse that sends the goods must have written authorisation for the transfer, and Customs must be notified of the transfer. Customs must be notified also when goods are moved between the authorisation holder’s own warehouses.

In practice, transferring goods while under temporary storage involves three separate declarations:

  • notification of the intended movement (submitted by the dispatching storage facility)
  • temporary storage declaration after movement (submitted by the receiving storage facility)
  • notification on the end of transfer (submitted by the dispatching storage facility).
